About The Conference

In light of the repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic the world is going through, and the necessity to reconsider the mechanisms of dealing with human resources in accordance with the new virtual world. This conference seeks to address and enables HR professionals to lead and develop their organizations’ greatest assets -its people.

In its first edition, the CU Ajman Human Resource Management conference will feature an amazing selection of regional and international speakers and thought leaders who will cover a range of topics crucial to the ongoing sustainable development of HRM in the public and private sectors.
It offers a unique opportunity to discuss the best practices applicable in business. Attendees will be acquainted with new trends and strategies in HRM, and share inspiring ideas that will help them design and build the people centric organizations of the future.

Participants

Asaad Ali Karam is an Assistant Professor in Strategic Management at the City University Ajman-UAE. More specifically, the courses that he teaches, Strategic Management, and Strategic Marketing Management. His research focuses on using SmartPLS-SEM methods and diverse data types to gain insight into the evolution of organizations and employees. He is particularly interested in understanding shared behavior and potential causal factors in the evolution of organizations during COVID-19. Recently his work was focused on unraveling the origin and evolution of the Using PLS-SEM Approach to Estimate Corporate Social Responsibility and Precautionary Measures of Covid-19: Effects on Employees Commitment.

Dr. Abdelkarim Kitana is an Assistant Professor in Human Resource Management and Deputy Head of HRM Department at City University Ajman-UAE. More specifically, the courses that he teaches, performance management and incentives, organizational behavior and job analysis and design. His research focuses on human resources and leadership. He is particularly interested in understanding shared behavior and potential causal factors in the evolution of organizations during COVID-19. Recently his work is focused on unraveling the origin and evolution of the impact of leadership styles on achieving institutional excellence.

Abdallah Taamneh is an Assistant Professor in the Human Resource department at City University Ajman. Dr. Taamneh received the Undergraduate degree in MIS from Yarmouk University, the Master’s degree in Business Management from Yarmouk University, and the Ph.D. Degree in Human Resource Management (HRM) from Girne American University. His teaching and research interests are in the area of organizational behavior and human resource management. His current research involves HRM practices, talent management, and technology adoption.

Brihan Fatin received a PhD in Human resources management from faculty of commerce, Ain Shams, University , the Master’s degree in Business Management from Sadat Academy for Management Science, , during this time she worked as an assistant lecturer, lecturer in faculty of Economics and Management in October 6 University in Egypt. Upon joining City University Collage of Ajman – UAE in September 2019, Brihan worked as an assistant professor in HRM department. Brihan teaches several business administrations courses to bachelor students, and she also applied her career outside academic experience in various consultancies for local and multinational corporations in Egypt and Middle East countries.

Eva Beke is an Assistant University Lecturer and a PHD Student, at the Doctoral School on Safety and Security Sciences at Óbuda University. She is also responsible for all international affairs at the Bánki Faculty and teaches Basics of Project Management for foreign students there. Her special field of research is a comparative study of teaching safety and security engineering in Hungary and in other international universities. She is extending her studies further about students’ competences in the framework of Education 4.0. She is a Certified Economist with a master’s degree from Óbuda University. She received her first master’s degree is in the Science of Education from the University of Szeged.

Aniko Kelemen-Erdos, PhD is an Associate Professor at the Keleti Faculty of Business and Management of Óbuda University, Hungary. She used to work as a marketing department manager at the Hungarian State Railways. She has been teaching marketing subjects, such as Consumer Behavior and Business Marketing. Her research interests include brand management and business development, with a special focus on food markets, and hospitality. She has taken part in several international research projects, including a Visegrad 4+Serbia project designed to help develop SMEs to avoid enterprise failure. She is the author of several publications in international and Hungarian journals.

Faisal Khan is an Assistant Professor in finance and accounting in the City University Ajman-UAE. His teaching interest revolves around finance, accounting, economics, strategic management and research methods. Mr. Khan research aims at both primary and secondary data, where he applies various advance statistical techniques to unfold the gray areas in the field of finance, strategic management, accounting, sustainability, and economics.

Dr. Hima Parameswaran is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Human Resource Management at City University Ajman. In her work experience, she served in various fields of healthcare, academia, and television media. Her areas of interests are Quality of Work-life, talent management, career dynamics, cognitive learning towards organizational development, and published several papers in international journals. Moreover, she concentrates on Industry 5.0 as a tool for Human Resource Development in the coming future. She has been a keynote speaker and Session Chair for various International Conferences and keen to community development programs.

Alexandra Ágnes Mészáros is a Ph.D. student at Óbuda University Doctoral School on Safety and Security Sciences in Hungary. She earned her BSc degree in Commerce and Marketing in 2018, and an MSc degree in Business Development in 2020. Her research focuses on international business and business negotiations primarily in the field of military technology to have insight into this special market. The scope of her research includes the development process and sales of new state-of-the-art military technology products within and without the European Union.

Muhamad Abdul Aziz Muhamad Saleh Jumaa is an Associate Professor in the Financial and Monetary Economics, and Department Chair of Finance and Accounting, in the City University Ajman-UAE. More specifically, the courses that he teaches, banking operations, financial institutions, managerial finance, and investment management. His research focuses on using Smartpls methods and diverse data types to gain insight into the evolution of financial institutions, finical markets, finance world and employees. He is particularly interested in understanding the evolution performance and potential causal factors that influence the performance and employees of the financial institutions during COVID-19. Recently his work is focused on (The Impact of Digital Banking on the Human Resource Roles in the Banking Sector during COVID-19: UAE).

Noémi Piricz is an Associate Professor at the Keleti Károly Faculty of Business and Management of the Óbuda University, Budapest (Hungary). She teaches courses about human resource management, corporate strategy and supply chain management. Her research focuses on various managing problems and challenges of different supply chains such as the role of trust, more issues of business ethics or managing problems of smart grids.

Anett Sógor has been acting in the multinational area for 10 years. She is mostly interested in supply chain management and information technology. Her research focuses on strategic management, project management and information technology. More specifically she is eager to have a deeper insight into cognitive computing, artificial intelligence, as well as the several areas of the methods of work organization such as agile management. Her current work is focused on the ethical behaviour of the companies and the change of the management strategies within the shadow of the COVID-19 appearance.

Dr.S.SENTHILKUMAR, currently working as Associate Professor in Finance and Management, Skyline University, Nigeria. His qualifications are MBA, M.Com, M.Phil, MS, and PhD. He has rich experience in teaching and academic of 18.3 years. He had published 58 papers Publications in National and International Journals and Proceedings. He Authored 4 books in Research Methodology, Corporate Finance, Principles of Accounting and Business Policy & Strategic management. Participated and presented 62 papers in National & International Seminars and Conferences. He acted as resource person and Guest lecture around 25 programmes. He guided 225 projects in M.B.A., 36 M.Phil, and 9 PhD. He got Authorized Guide ship for PhD & M.Phil from Indian Universities such as Anna University, Karpagam University, Bharathiar University and Bahir Dar University, Ethiopia. He performed as foreign examiner for evaluating PhD Thesis.

Saigeeta Kukunuru, Assistant Professor, City University University Ajman is specialized in Management. Dr. Geeta is experienced in handling courses in the area of Leadership and Strategic Management, Human Resource Management, International Business, Performance Management, Compensation management, Career Management, Contemporary issues in HRM, International HR, and other related areas. Her area of research focuses basically in the area of Human Resources Management and Human Behavior, in addition to research in contemporary areas of Management. Area of professional focus includes performance analysis, skill acquisition, talent management etc. Recently, author is engaged in studies related to the post Covid-19 scenario.  The faculty is trained and certified in the area of Supply Chain Operations, Marketing and HRM, is busy focusing in research and development in these functional areas of Management.  

Dr Sharon Waller holds the rank of Assistant Professor at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK). She earned a bachelor’s in business administration at Texas Woman’s University, (TWU) the Master of Education degree from the University of North Texas (UNT) and a Philosophical Doctorate in Special Education from TWU. Sharon holds a Texas teaching certification in All-level Generic Special Education and is also a Certified Educational Diagnostician. At the American University of Ras Al Khaimah, she developed the Office of Counselling, Testing, and Disability Services, and currently serves as full-time faculty, IE Coordinator, Arts & Sciences Curriculum Committee Chair, and the university Disability Coordinator.

Ms Aaesha A. Lehlaiw is a teacher with 3 years of experience in the educational field besides administrative tasks. She is a positive person who has an enthusiastic outlook on life, loves her job, and always works from the heart. She has a great sense of achievement from seeing my students develop and grow as individuals.
She got a distinction Bachelor in Information Management and currently doing her Master of Education in Educational Leadership (MEEL) at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates.

Dr Alexandria Proff is an educational leader who has served as a senior administrator in primary, secondary, and tertiary education settings. She has a successful track record as a leader of positive change, leading and facilitating change initiatives in schools and universities. She is a teacher-trainer and leadership coach, where she emphasizes putting theory into practice.
Her interdisciplinary research is oriented around access for girls and women to various facets of education, leadership, and advancement in the Arabian Gulf and MENA region, more broadly. She is currently Department Chair of Humanities and Social Sciences and an Assistant Professor of Education at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah, where she teaches courses in research, change, and leadership.

Ms Rasha Musalam is an executive administrator with more than a decade of successful experience in running and managing the admission and registration department. She is a strong believer in the power of positive thinking in the workplace. She has been awarded for best administrative services in 2006 and manager of the year in 2015/2016.
She holds a master’s degree in Business Administration, and currently, she is studying her master of education degree at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates. She is working as a part-time research assistant at the university.

Mahesh Ramakrishna Pillai, Associate Professor / Dean, University of Business Administration, Umm Al Quwain University, is currently engaged as faculty in the area of Operations Management, Strategic Management, Marketing Management, HRM and related Management Specialties. His research focuses in the area of Management and Human Behavior, in addition to the research in Finance and its specialization. Dr. Mahesh is conducting studies and publications in the functional areas of understanding job skills, financial planning and organizational development. Recent works focuses towards addressing the repercussions and, managerial implications in the Post Covid-19 scenario. The latest research is in the area of challenges in Strategic Leadership in academic sector, during the Post Covid Situations, benefitting the organizational learning and talent management practices.

Dr. Mohammad Abu Faiz is currently working as Deputy Head of HRM Department at City University University, Ajman. Dr. Faiz completed his PhD from Central University, Allahabad, Inda in 2005. His area of research is Human Resource Management, Strategic HRM, HR Analytic, Organisation Behaviours, Electronic Business, Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility. His work has been featured in several national and international refereed Journals. Dr. Faiz is on the editorial board of various national and international journals of repute. Dr Faiz has published more than 35 papers in journals and conferences respectively.

Dr. Riktesh Srivastava has a Ph.D. with management qualification in General Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA). Dr. Srivastava obtained certifications in Marketing at Wharton School, USA, Electronic Commerce at NTU, Singapore, and Innovation and Information Technology Management at IIMB, India. He has written three books and published more than 70 papers. Dr. Riktesh Srivastava is an Associate Professor in the MBA department at City University Ajman.

Assistant Professor of Human Resources Management in Umm Al Quwain University- UAE.

Dr. Sameh Abdelhay is an assistant professor of Human Resources Management in Umm Al Quwain University- UAE. Currently, I am teaching HR courses such as: Human resources planning and development and compensation management, and other courses related to HRM. The focus of my research is to examine the influence of culture on the performance of employees and organizations. I have great interest to understand the best management cultural practices to support and sustain the employee’s creativity and innovation. Studying the perceptions of female gender absence in top management and its relation with discrimination is my recent research topic.
