To ease your transition to life in the UAE, we have a dedicated International Student Office that provides enhanced support services when you first arrive and during your early weeks at CU Ajman.

Before your arrival, we can provide support during the application process through International Student Office. We have a simple visa sponsorship program that allows you to secure your residency in the UAE before arrival.

Enrolling in a program at CU Ajman has provided a platform for hundreds of international students to go on and secure employment in United Arab Emirates and to make their life in this exciting country.

From the application stage right through to arrival, induction and day-to-day studies, we recognize the needs and requirements of international students and have a range of support services to help ensure an enjoyable transition to life in the UAE.

International Student Office

The International Student office is designed to provide support and assistance to new students who have come from another country to study at CU Ajman. Whether you arrive in UAE already knowing friends or family members, or whether you are taking on the challenge of moving to UAE on your own, it is not easy to move to a new and unfamiliar country.

To help make your transition to UAE as enjoyable and smooth as possible, the International Student Office, with the support of Student Affairs department, organizes a series of activities for new international students, both on and off-campus, which are referred to as an Orientation Week. These activities provide an ideal opportunity to meet other international students, make friends, and get settled into UAE and University life. It also provides an ideal way to meet new domestic and returning students.

The orientation week activities are open to both Undergraduate and Postgraduate students and all students are encouraged to attend.

Visa Information

Visa Process

• City University Ajman provides student visas for international students who are enrolled in any of our academic programs.
• Students applying for the Intensive English Program are not eligible to apply for a student visa.
• Students should download and fill-out the application form located with the admission requirements and forward it by email to the CU Ajman Admissions Department at: info@cu.ac.ae
• The visa duration is one year and can be renewed annually at a cost of AED 1400.
• Students must enroll in a minimum 30 credit hours (10 courses) per year.

Documents required for visa processing:

• Photocopy of the student´s passport pages with personal details, date of issue and expiration date. NOTE: The passport should be valid for a minimum period of eight months from the time of the visa request.
• An official transcript of the secondary school certificate (grade 12 or its equivalent) attested by the authorities shown below from the student’s country:
  • Ministry of Education or Higher Education
  • Ministry of Foreign Affairs
  • UAE Embassy.
• 12 passport-size color photographs of the student (with a white background).
• Students must be outside of the UAE at the time of visa processing or may also hold a UAE visit visa.
• Students with tourist visa must exit the UAE before their student visa can be processed.
• International students must pay the fees listed here for visa processing plus full year fees in order to proceed with the visa application and guarantee a place at CU Ajman (if a student visa is required)

Student Accommodation

CU Ajman currently does not have its own accommodation but Student Affairs Department liaises with students seeking accommodation and makes arrangements for them based on their financial abilities.
